BUGGER the buffering

I don't know it it is a software or hardware or connectivity issue, but some streaming video plays flawlessly, and other sources buffer all the time.

My connection speed is around 527 Mbps, 8 GB of RAM, Windows 10, Firefox, wired modem.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR Gaming PC, Intel Core i5-9400F 2.9GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB, 8GB DDR4, 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD, WiFi Ready & Win 10 Hom

There are always hundreds of "background processes" running, and no matter how many I terminate, nothing speed up.

Would upgrading this machine fix the problem?

Upgrading the internet speed would be insanely expensive, almost triple what I pay now.

I am always loathe to clear the Firefox Cache. I can never remember my usernames and passwords, and clearing the cache erases them.

Before you play the Video...
Check to see if it was recorded in 1080p or 4K resolution, and what is the running length of the Video.
The longer the length, and higher the resolution of the recording, can cause your browser to need to do some buffering to play it.
Also, the website might be experiencing high traffic volume when you are trying to view the video.

Upgrading your memory to the Maximum that your motherboard can take would help abit.

A 1Gig internet speed would help you out greatly, only as you say "insanely expensive".
Start looking at other Internet Providers in your area, and see what sort of deals they offer.

FireFox does have a "Save Password" function in their latest browsers.
Also, in the "Clear Recent History" Tab, you can uncheck the "Clear Cache", so it doesn't erase it.
Though this can leave you open to the possibility of getting some sort of virus.

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

What is the specific thing to clear in firefox to speed up streaming? What is the specific thing that stores passowords?

Is there some way to tell the computer to devote all resources to the thing I am currently viewing, such as a game or a specific streaming source?

Any advice as to type and brand of RAM to buy for this specific computer? If I do not also upgrade the power supply, will it even function?

I live in Washington DC. For some reason I cannot understand, there are only two internet service providers to choose from. Unless you know of a way around this? I have Astound. Their service is so bad, they had to change the name of the company from RCN.

I don't understand.....a physical thing costs more now due to covid labor slowdown, supply chain issues, physical transportation, possibly chicken disease or vegetable drought. What, exactly, makes internet service not only expensive, but more expensive every year?

I guess I sorta see the password thing on Firefox. So if I clear EVERYTHING to speed up the streaming, then click this, those listed things will still work?
Sorry, but I am age 60, and none of this every made any sense to me. No UI in the history of software ever felt intuitive to me.

How would I know how much memory my motherboard can handle? Some RAM sites CLAIM that 'oh, those motherboard limits are fake' buy our RAM anyway
