Windows 98 Problem solving for the Windows 98 Operating System

Lost windows 98 while upgrading to windows 98 upgrade

I have a IBM THINKPAD 600 LAPTOP, It has windows 98 on it, I installed windows 98 upgrade on it and it told me to restart computer and now all i get is a blank screen with a small blinking line on it, Help! What did i do wrong? Please give me step by step detailed instructions on this for Im just learning computers, Thanks for all your help!

Hi guitarpikker, welcome to Cyber Tech Help.

How long did you let the "small blinking line" run? The
first bootup on an installed WindowsXX is the longest.

Did you leave the CD in the CD tray when asked to
reboot?
