I love anything cheese and oniony - another variation, melt a bit of butter in a pan, soften some onions, add as much cheese as you like, let it melt quite slowly, add a bit of milk then stick it on a plate and scoop it up with some nice granary bread. Gorgeous

its like making cheese sauce with just cheese and onions. Eggy bread can set smoke alarms off.....

Makes me laugh these new smoke alarms... you try to cook a fried egg or bacon and it sets it off. On the other hand when i set fire to the baking tray in the oven and the kitchen was filled with thick black smoke it never went off

My ole Gran used to make that when I was a kid... never been able to replicate it quite right.

I used to get it made for me years ago, it used to sort of separate so you had thick cheese and then this runny part. mine doesnt always do that but it still tastes as good. extra mature cheddar and strong onions

Yep... thats it!!! Mine just turns into a lump..

I think my Gran used Lancashire cheese but I aint sure.

you just need to add a drop of milk, about 1 - 2 tbsps
