Exclamation unable to install...

on my other computer i tried installing itunes from the cd which came with the ipod which failed due to something with privialges. I thought there might be something wrong with the cd so I downloaded itunes from the website and it still wouldnt install this time it was something like cant install installshield wizard scripting runtime. Another time this happened was when I was trying to install AVG free on the computer. This got to almost the end of the installation process and then quit because of some error which I thoight might have been the mcaffee virus scanner which was installed. After uninstalling mcaffee virusscan i still couldnt install avg.

Since this computer has no AV I need help really quickly

thanks

Take note of the link to the InstallSheild article. Could be want you need to do.
As for Mcaffee try this uinstaller program.

Getting rid of Mcaffee is like trying to get rid of a rootkit!

i tried both of these solutions and... still the same problem with itunes and the uninstall program couldnt find my mcaffee virus scan so i mustve uninstalled it fully. This is really getting annoying now, there must be a solution to this problem somewhere

Try downloading the latest version of iTunes from Apple and installing that. It may be that the CD you have has an older, non-compatible version, or is corrupt.

As for AVG, is it listed in Add/Remove Programs? If so, try uninstalling it there. If not, what error do you get while installing it?
