Difference between Intel Core Solo and Intel Core Duo
I'm planning on buying a Dell inspiron laptop. I am wondering what the difference is between Intel Core Solo and Intel Core Duo processors. Is it worth more money for the Duo when all I'll use the laptop for is Office applications and internet browsing?

Core Solo has one core
Core Duo has two cores if you will use your comp for creating/editing videos, images, sound, doing tough calculations, 3d editing the Core Duo works better |

How much more expensive is it?

I've got a couple hours left to bid on the refurbished laptop on Ebay (complete with warranty) and only solo Core which is currently at $650.00. To buy the new one from Dell with the DUO Core will cost $1083.00 I'm trying to debate how high to bid for the refurbished one or if I should just buy the new one..

Tough call... based on what you wrote originally, you don't really need the duo power. But, the duo will have better reselling value down the road. I'd go duo, but that's just me playing with your money!

Yeah, that's a good point there... you could end up buying a video camera down the road and wishing for the duo.

Thank you for the input. Sounds good to me.
