Unhappy Directx11 not working anymore, please help!!!

I used to play Far Cry 3 and F1 2012 without any problems and only recently (about a month or so from playing them last) have I found that A) F1 no longer loads, it just says: 'DirectX 10 or 11 support required' and B) I cannot select DX11 in Far Cry 3. I have recently installed Max Payne 3 and even that game does not allow me to select DX11, it's not greyed out, it just doesn't appear.

I always look on the 'System requirements Lab' to see if I can run the game before purchasing it and all these games should run fine! (F1 2012 and Far Cry 3 have done in the past)

I have tried optimising the games settings using NVIDIA GeForce Experience but hasn't work, it tells me the game has been optimised, but when I load the game, everything but DX11 has been optimised.

I have even run the DirectX Diagnostics Tool and this is what it shows:

Does anybody have any idea what is going wrong here? I've tried googling but to no avail. I don't understand, it worked fine before!

I'm not to good with DX logs, but it looks like you've updated the video drivers. Try rolling them back to previous version, see if that clears up your problem.

Couple of things to try:

Start | Control Panel | Appearance and Personalization | Advance screen resolution

Advanced settings

Click Troubleshoot tab then Change settings

Move the Hardware acceleration slider to FULL

Also are your display settings text size set to 100% not 125% (or larger)?

Murf: I tried the steps that you suggested but 'change settings' under the 'troubleshoot' tab was greyed out.

MaDef: I rolled back the graphics driver and loaded up Far Cry 3 and I was able to select DX11 again so thank you. Hopefully this has solved the problem.

Thanks again guys!!

Just tried playing Far Cry 3 again today and it's reverted back to DX9 and I haven't updated the graphics driver, it's a mystery

Look in the install folder for the game you should see a file called farcry3_d3d11.exe

Right click on it then select Run that as admin and the game should start in dx11 mode
