If you havent got a dvd writer you would have to split the film in to two.

This 'film' would be your own property, something you paid for, or something you have permission to copy, correct?

ok ,how bigs the file if its vcd mpeg1 or svcd mpeg2 you will get 800mb on a 700mb 80min disc (cos its written without error correction )
if its over this heres what i do (btw i back up my own dvds so kids dont trash my originals, i belive this is stil legal?)
use mpeg tools section on tmpg encoder (merge ,split section)to split the file into burnable sizes.
then drop the mpeg files into vcdeasy(do a search for the older free version)this creates an image file and you can also add chapters ect.
let nero burn the image file . i enable overburn on nero (vcdeasy puts a little xtra on the file size) and get 816mb on an 80min cd.
