Hard drive not present, no fixed disks present and so on...more info

The hard drive on my computer is the original when I bought it new.

When I turn the computer on, it says operating system not avail.

When I try to re-format ( I have done this before) it says no fixed disks present.

I try to load windows 95 from the cdrom and it gives the error of win95 has detected drive c: does not contain a valid FAT or FAT32 Partition. After this I try to re-partition the HD with FDISK but it gives the error NO FIXED DISKS AVAILABLE.

I checked the BIOS and the HD is detected and all is in order as far as I can see...right now I see that I cannot fix this on my own =)

I cannot access windows at all...Any ideas?

Gary, it's best if you keep all questions to the same thread. Makes it easier on everyone. Did you try all of my suggestions? Here is the original thread that needs to be addressed concerning this problem. I'm closing this one.
