Android

G'day Folks.
Has any-body else played with ANDROID.
I got one for Xmas, with instructions to learn how to use it, because, 4 others in the family were getting one too, and would need instructing.

Ever since I got it I have been trying to put Skype onto it.

Every time I sign in to Skype and download it. I get the message :- Not Compatible.

Has any-one found a way around this please?

Android is an operating system. Skype compatibility is dictated by the hardware. What device have you got?

On the box it says "MID"
On the device it says - Nothing - (Not one word)
On the book, it says - ANDROID User Manual
Inside the book, Under Questions and Answers, it says - Android OS is 2.2

The device itself. Has NO screws. So I can't take it apart and look inside.
It also has a very soft screen that is easily scratchable by fingernails.

It does have a little sticker on the back.
Showing.
1 to 12 (like a clock).
A red blob in the middle with a white 7 written on it.

I believe it was bought by ebay from Hong Kong.

It does have.
Internet, Audio record & play, Video record & play, Picture taking & viewing.

I think I found it on ebay.
It is called.---------------- Ochre Star
Operating System----------Android 2.3
Screen--------------------7"
1 GHz Touch Screen
It says on ebay that Skype is available for free from thier 'Application Market'.
I went into the market but I can't find Skype.

Thankyou Smurfy.
Now I have to make it install properly.
I go there. I select download. I sign in.
Everything goes good until I get to the bit where it requires me to copy the letters.
Sometimes it says that I copied wrong.
Sometimes it says nothing and looks O.K.
I click 'go' and it goes back and asks me to copy different letters.
It just keeps on doing this forever until I shut the system.
When I re-open the system. Skype is not there. So I start again.

Do you have any brainwave idea's.
Cos I'm getting close to hitting it with a sledge hammer.
