Volume Shadow Copy Service
hi
I have noticed lately that the Volume Shadow Copy Service is disabled, does any one know if this service be enabled automatically or manually? thanks |

Mine is set to manually and is not started. I have not changed it so I would assume that what I have is the default. Hope that answers your question.

Manages and implements Volume Shadow Copies used for backup and other purposes. If this service is stopped, shadow copies will be unavailable for backup and the backup may fail. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
By default the service is set to "Manual". Which I would set back to Manual. Remote Procedure Call (RPC), if you ever use it, relies on this service. |
