Video Card Problem: Monitor & Projector
Hello, I will just get right into it and list my hardware:
Windows XP Home SP3 Radeon 9550 (DVI, VGA, S-Video) Hitachi LCD Projector Projector inputs: DVI (not being used) VGA (connected to my computer) Component (RGB) (connected to my xbox 360) S-Video (not being used) Video (Yellow) (not being used) Controller (not being used) Monitor-DVI-Computer Projector-VGA-Computer Projector-Component-Xbox 1. I want my monitor and my Projector to display the image both coming from my Radeon 9550 at the same time. 2. I want to know why my Display must be turned on before the computer. So both my monitor and projector are turned on to their computer inputs and both display the same image fine, until BIOS is over and windows starts to start, which is when my projector says "No in put on Computer (VGA). Every time BIOS finishes something and loads another BIOS my projector says no input, but then the next BIOS loads and my projector finds the signal until Windows starts. By the way, my projector can change inputs from the touch of a button. READ: The weird thing is, when I disconnect the DVI from my video card going to my monitor, the projector works fine. It only seems not to work on the projector when both displays are using the video card. Also, with both displays, it seems I cannot get the signal unless the display was on BEFORE the computer. EG. I must turn my monitor or projector on before my computer, or else it will say no input. Sorry for all of the text, but I figure more is better then less. Please reply if you can help Thanks, Shavo_Tech |

Display devices are not hot-swappable like USB devices. The Radeon software also relies of pre-discovery of display devices to be able to use Dual-Display. |

thanks very much I thought no one was going to answer this topic.
So im guessing once i enable Dual-Display I get to choose between Dual display as in multiple monitors showing the same image, and dual display as in 2 monitors showing the image together stretched between both monitors (like a flight simulator) Thanks |

Dual-Display would be each device shows the same display.
If your *not* on Dual-Display then you select one device as "Primary" and the other as "Extended" and that is where one desktop is spread across two monitors. As you move the pointer to the edge of one screen it shows up on the other as you cross over the divide. |
