Trying to search for a document!
I am looking for a document which I accessed about a month ago from one of my many floppy discs/cds. I unfortunately can't remember the name of the document! Is there any way that I can view a log of some sort that can tell me which documents have been opened and possibly where they originated from? Also, if I opened something from a USB stick, and didn't save it on my hard drive, is it possible to view it without the stick?

Howdy and welcome to CTH:
Word has an option to save up to a set number of files that it has opened. However, as you keep opening them, the older ones are deleted. Also, if you have "Most Recent Documents" options activated, that will show you everything you have opened since the last time you cleaned your system. Other than that, nope. As for question 2, if it isn't on your hdd, then nope. You will need the flash drive to open it again. Murray |

Thanks very much for your reply. Unfortunately, I have viewed quite a lot of documents recently, so it's not there. Do you think that my network administrator would be able to help? Thanks again!

Probably not but there is no harm in asking.
