Lagging problems and Audio Problems/HJT Attached.

Anytime I try to open a program, run a game, listen to music, etc. My computer will lag. It's to the point with my music that it sounds scratchy and skips alot. Here's my log file, and maybe something stands out that shouldn't be there? This all happened today, and to be honest I have no idea how it happened. My computer ran perfectly last night, and this morning it went nuts. It's a brand new laptop too!!

Howdy lucaspgordon,

Looks like your request was completely overlooked in all the activity here. No infection showing there, but if you have not resolved the issue, post back now this additional scan for a follow up.

Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here.

Thank you very much Tom for responding. I did however go back to the store and exchange laptops. The tech there looked through the computer, scanned it, etc. and could not find a single thing wrong with the computer - even though there was definitely something wrong with it. They were more than happy to give me a new one, and thankfully there wasn't a ton of information on the computer so switching was a no brainer.

However, thank you very much for the help offered.

Luke

Well just when I thought my problems were over, my NEW laptop did the same thing. Not even a week into having it, the exact same problems occured. Lagging when opening programs, 5 minute Windows XP startup screen, and of course the choppy audio/video. I just don't know how it keeps happening because what I'm using the laptop for is nothing different than the average user.

Tom, I'm going to run that silent runners program that you suggested and I will post when it finishes.

One last thing I'd like to add, just as a thought. Before my laptop, I had my own PC in my room. I never shut it down, and restarted only when needed. Could problem occur because I never shut my laptop down, or hibernate it? It's always on, unless I'm taking it somewhere.

Nothing out of the ordinary there, and really didn't expect much to be with it being new. Why not post a new request in the CTH Hardware forum about the laptop and performance issues. See if they have some advice to operate it within parameters.
