SSD Query
Hi Folks,
I have been mulling over changing my boot drive (KINGSTON%20SV300S37A120G) to a 1tb Crucial SSD to dual boot and hod my data on the same drive. Currently my data is stored on a WDC20WD10EZEX-00WN4A0-2 My mainboards is an ageing Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3. Having done a bit of research, I find there is a PCI-e adapter that will accommodate a M2 SSD card. I wonder if I will get more bang for my buck with the M2 or the slower SSD given the M2 mat be slower through the PCI-e slot.... |

Hey Jaytee,
Using PCI-e Adapter Board with a M2 SSD, is going to be slower than a SATA SSD drive. Though you may not notice much of a difference in speed. Also price wise, it would be the cheaper way too go. But, SSD's when they fail, are nearly impossible to recover any data off of them, compared to HDD's. So, I suggest you keep your WDC20WD10EZEX-00WN4A0-2 as a backup. Keep your important Doc's, Pic's, Audio Files, and Data on the HDD. Put your OS, Games, Browsers, Acrobat Reader, Java on the SSD. Signed: Ensign Tzap |
