Windows Vista Problem solving for the Windows Vista Operating System. Please remember to state which edition of Vista you are using - Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate etc. and whether you are using the 32-bit or 64-bit version if you know. |

Yet another dual boot problem
OK I've browsed the forum but I can;t find any helpful info on dual booting for my case
XP is on my RAID0 on SATA 1 and 2, Vista is on the first partition of my backup drive on SATA 3, under XP it is the "V" drive I had XP already on my RAID and I installed the full version of Vista on the second drive, it booted into it and then I installed my drivers, including that for my RAID, then I had to restart.....but instead of giving me this screen, it went straight into XP without a mention of Vista I know about Vista not having the boot.ini and all that, but how can I get Vista and XP to both show up at boot? I'm guessing if I disconnect my RAID drives I could get back into Vista if I need to get in there to fix something |

Sorry about the delay... Anyway, Vista contains a "Startup Repair" feature that should give the screen you provided a picture of. To use this, put your Vista DVD in the drive, boot from it, choose the proper language options, then click "Repair your computer" (or something similar), click Next, choose the Vista installation, and click "Startup Repair."

Well I've got a new problem
I can't boot into XP on my RAID...... Is this because it's on a RAID and Vista can't see it? Under "Computer" in Vista it sees it I know in the repair window you can load drivers, and I have the SATA RAID drivers from the Vista driver package (already installed) but I'm not sure what files to put on the floppy, or how exactly it would want them......in any matter I don't think the drivers are the problem.....but it could be So, any ideas to get XP and Vista to boot nicely together? |

I haven't used VistaBootPro much, but maybe you should try it to add XP to your boot options.
