1. Start FireFox

2. Enter the following term in FireFox address bar: ‘about:config‘

3. Type ‘keyword.url’ in the Filter text box to locate keyword.url

4. Double click on ‘keyword.url‘

5. Change the default value of keyword.url to:
http://www.google.com/search?q=

I typed in about_:config that did nothing but bring up the yahoo search page.

I then typed in 'about_:config' and got the same results or couldn't find web page.
this is web page: http://wwwwh.found-not-help.com/sear...g=G_5j&ri=g0Fs

What is filter text box?
I'm not a computer whiz so please go slow with me!

thanks

Sorry, I forgot to tell you not to include the quotes (in the first step).

After typing about:config, press the Enter key. You'll probably get a warning message, so just click the "I'll be careful, I promise" button.

Then you'll see the "Filter" bar below the address bar.

In that box, type keyword.url and the same term, keyword.url, will appear in the bottom pane. Double click it and in the little window that opens, type in (or copy and paste from here) http://www.google.com/search?q= then click OK.

Then see if it uses Google.
