Need help with Privacy & Restricted settings

Hi all,

A few days ago I was able to get someone banned from a Rugby Forum due to his frequent abuse of other and myself, I took it upon myself to write emails and so on, I succeeded, but in doing so I think I pay a price.

On Saturday I was going to sign in to the Rugby forum with my user name and p/w, but I was not able too, every time I would press sign on it would take me to a blank screen. So I decided just to go into the Forum site with out signing in.

I tried to sign in from in there but the same thing would happen, then I noticed that my PRIVACY settings and RESTRICTED settings had been played with for this Rugby forum site. I also noticed that when I would try to sign in with my user name & p/w that it would not accept it?

I tried to creat another user name/pw but that was useless. I went onto my wifes pc to have a go from there but the same thing happened. I dont know what this person has done but he was able to somehow restricted me from the site that I visit very frequently.

So I guess he has payed me back by hacking into my account and doing something from there. I have tried to reset my secutiy settings but they keep reverting back to making the site restricted hence making it impossible for me to sign in and reply back to other threads.

I have taken some screen shot to make it abit easier for yous to see whats happening.

The bad thing is that this person has been able to creat a new user name and /pw for himself and is back in the forum, but now he is acting very tamed and inncocent.

Please can some one help me please....!!!

Im running winXP (sp2)

In one of the screen shots you can see the privacy & restricted icons on the lower right hand side..

Does the Admin' at the forum know about all this?

Unfortunately, unless you have any kind of control over the forum (as in being an Admin with full control), there's not a lot that you can do yourself, it is really up the the owner/Admin of the forum to be dealing with.

I agree, and as far as the problem with your settings at the forum, then you need to contact the admin and have them reset your settings. Then immediatly change your passwords.

Check in Internet Options>Security>Restricted Sites>Sites

See if the site is listed.

Also check in Privacy if the site or cookies are listed.

Hi guys,

Ok Ive checked my privacy settings and yes the cookies for the Rugby forum has been set to block>> http://img92.exs.cx/img92/1593/Blocked.jpg

I tried to unblock them but no go. I might have to contact the admin people of the site to reset my settings like renegade600 wrote.

I was able to get into the forum through my wifes pc and man was it a hassle! but yes , my problem on my pc still exists.

How would some one hack my account like this, how can he have accomplished this if he has no information of me or where I am in the world and im running a fire wall, plus virus guard & zone lab ?

Things to try:

On the Security tab reset security to Default
In Restricted Sites remove any entries associated with the forum or MSN.
On the Privacy take it to the lowest setting (Accept All Cookies) and Apply.

In the rstricted sites tab I scolled down to see if any msn sites where placed in the restricted section like you wrote and yes I found these ones :
acr1.msn.com
" "2.msn.com
" "3.msn.com all the way to arc9.msn.com

ads.msn.com
eshop.msn.com
eshopxml.msn.com
http://groups.msn.com
popup.msn.com
rad.msn.com
rmads.msn.com
rmads.eu.msn.com
g.msn.fr
msnwebsearch.com
ads.xtra.co.nz -

Ok this is what I found under the restricted section, but before allowing them, I want to comfirm with you that there ok to "allow" ?
