Question deleting old backup files after upgrade to Windows XP home edition

I recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Home Edition. When I did this, it backed up my old system(over 650mb). The new XP is working great with no more lockups. Can I delete this old backup or will some of my older programs cease to work after I delete this backup?

Thanks

Hi buddy....I kept the backups for around a month and deleted when I was sure XP was working well. I didn't have any problems

not totally sure, but goto Add/Remove Programs and there may be an entry for Windows Backup Files or similar.

I keep mine for a couple of months before deleting. You should be able to uninstall from add/remove.
