info:: Quick Linux System Info Using uname

Should you need some quick information on your linux system, type the following at a command prompt:

Code:
uname -a
this will return the following items in order....
KERNEL-NAME
NODENAME
KERNEL-RELEASE
KERNEL-VERSION
MACHINE
PROCESSOR
HARDWARE-PLATFORM
OPERATING-SYSTEM
