Upgrade Bios

All of the bios flashers for Award bios are DOS driven. Dos boot disks are either not seen in pre boot or if all boot options are set to floppy are reported as an invalid system disk. How do I flash the bios to run the FSB at 266 mhz?

Hi alanw8,
I have an Award BIOS and the way I flash is to put the floppy in, re-boot and at the POST screen hit Alt+F4.

Hope it helps.

EDIT: Shouldn't have to change boot options (mine set to CD, HDD and Floppy).

ALT=F4

Is my PC just the spoiled child or what? Alt+f4 does nothing. I have checked and re-checked the Bios. Boot up floppy seek is enabled. The floppy drive is installed but it is like the system doesn,t see it. The machine goes through the post like the only thing installed is the HDD and boots into windows every time. Once in windows it shows the contents of any disk I put in it. Of course I can press f8 to show the preboot options but safe mode/command prompt does no good. THe dos flasher shows no support in win2k or xp.Thanks for the idea anyway. Anyone else have any thoughts?
