Is Windows Live OneCare worth it?
I beta tested Windows Live OneCare, and qualify for their $20 pricing for up to three computers. I found it OK, but I've seen better suites. The $20 price tag is tempting, though, and I need some sort of AV at least. I guess the backup/tune-up features are a bonus, but I could find free software (not one package, though) that does the same thing.
So, any other opinions? The deal ends April 30th. |

thats up to you. You have been testing it, you know what it does, does it fit your needs? Is it any better than whats out there?
Personally, I find it hard to purchase a security feature from microsoft to protect their operating system. IMO, their operating system should already be secured from nasties. Its like purchasing a car and then find out you have to pay a yearly fee just to lock the car. |

If were going to use cars as an example I think a $20 maintance fee is resonable for something you know your going to need sooner or later.
But then again I think $40 for Nod32 is well underpriced for what it keeps out of my computer, least ways the places, not porn, I like to surf and things I like to try out. |
