XP Search Feature
I used to be able to use the Search tool in folders etc to find various files. Now when I try to open it (by clicking the Search button on the header next to folders) it comes up with this error: "A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup." The Search Companion still appears but there is no menu for ways to search and the "Companion" (dog, Einstien etc.) but, when I click on him nothing happens.
Anyone know the cause and a solution to this problem? Also, what does it mean by running setup? |

Howdy:
What it means is using your XP cd and running a repair on the system.. Before you do that, go to Start>Run and type in sfc /scannnow (space between sfc and /scannow).. Have your XP cd handy!! Murray |
