I have a problem with my hard disk drives.
After sometime my one or two of my drives takes some extra space and that space is not covered by any file, not even by system files. And when i format that drive that space comes back. The total space of the drive and total space of the files are different from 1GB to 5GB and it grows... This problem occurs with some of my friends too. This is not caused by any virus, spyware or malware. Because i have fully formatted my hard disk many times. And even i update my NORTON INTERNET SECURITY in every 2-3 days. So, please tell me. If there is any software, i can use to solve my problem. I can't format my drives every time because all of my drives are full and it is also difficult to arrange the data in other drives every time i format a drive. Please give me any suggestion.... Have you tried defragmenting? If your disk is severely fragmented you will end up with a good amount of unusable space on the disk.

Also you can try this free tool http://www.z-a-recovery.com/tools-visualizer.htm to see how your disk space is used.
