Adobe Flash Player & Administrator issues

I am using Vista and IE7. Flash player will not operate although it shows as installed. I have gone through Adobe's fixes but I think the problem is the administrator permission. This is one user laptop and the administrator is shown as the user but I can't get any Flash content.
Appreciate the help.
Rick

Hi Rick. Have you tried the suggestion here? It fixes permission issues.

Hi AnnMarie,
Yes, those are the fixes I tried and when I ran the program, the command prompt window came up, spooled through information, and said press any key to continue. However, it did not rectify the problem. Still no Flash Player.

Try it again but this time, instead of doubleclicking on reset_fp10.cmd, try rightclicking on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Reboot and try installing Flash Player now.

Hi AnnMarie,
That is how I ran the program. I did it again and rebooted. Still no success.

Well that should fix any issues with Admin permissions so it sounds as though this may not the problem. Have you tried creating a new user account using the true Administrators account and installing it from there?

The command is:

net user Administrator /active:yes

and it must be run from an elevated command prompt (click on the Start button and type cmd.exe in the Search box. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator").

You should get a message saying "The command completed successfully".

Try logging off now, you should see the Admin Account when you logon again.

Hi AnnMarie,
That solved the problem with flash player. However, the desktop and screensaver have changed and settings are different. Can I now transfer the settings from the other account to the new one? If so, how is this done?
Thanks, Rick
