Unhappy Slow Vista Performance

Last Week I made a partition on my second drive and installed Vista on it to make sure my drivers worked. They did, however now that I have Upgraded my C drive to Vista the performance is terrible. The internet, windows explorer, applications, any games, everything runs about one eighth the speed it did with XP, it has gotten to where when I type something it takes a moment to actually show up in the text box! I went and set the visual settings to optimal performance, so it turned Areo and everything off and it still runs like a slug! Does anyone have any tips as to what I should do?
Thanks!

go back to xp lol. haha sorry. as for an actual answer i would say you might have to wait and give people some time to tweak it and for the first service pack. In the mean time though check out this site.

they dont have their tweaking utility out yet, but near the bottom there are some tweaking articles.
