Network Resources

I have a network device that has four USB ports and 1 ethernet port. When connected to my network, I can access any of the USB ports via TCP/IP. I have two printers and two external hard drives connected. WHen I go to teh Network area of Vista teh device is listed, but when I try to connect to it and enter the username and password, it comes back as invalid. I can connect through any other non vista machine with no problem. I have even tried mapping a network drive to it with no go.

Any idea what would be different in Vista that would not let me connect?
