size of new window

using IE6.0.2800

I have the problem now for a while that the new window or upon running the rogram from scratch. The window is almost but not quite a full screen.

I have tried closing all open windows of IE6 until the final one which I make sure is maximised and then I close that one. it still opens in the old size.

I tried having the last window max and then shutting down the computer. Still it comes back the same.

Need help. Oh and it's Win 98 I'm running.

Don't use the maximize button on that final one. Drag it to the size and position you want (hover the cursor over an edge or corner until it turns into a double headed arrow, press and hold the left mouse button and drag).

If the IE window you resized by dragging is a secondary window and is the last one you close, all future secondary IE windows will open to that size and placements.

The maximize button is a temporary setting that IE will forget.

Try it this way. Open the new window. Drag by the corners to full size. Right click on the blue bar at top, and close from the menu. Now the new windows should open full sized.

EDIT: I need to type faster.

Thanks, but I just noticed it has fixed itself, which reminded me to come here and check for replies.
