Programs crashing, computer crashing...

My computer has been crashing on a variety of occasions...

After desktop appears and programs are loading.
While opening or using internet browsers.
While playing games(in this case, game+zone alarm crashes, computer still works but in a matter of seconds crashes)

I dusted the computer and placed a fan nearby, it may have helped some. Also removed antiquated Norton Anti-Virus. The only program I really use now is Zone Alarm.

Here is the error messages after computer restarts

"windows has recovered from a serious error"

details

BCCode : 1000000a BCP1 : F8B12000 BCP2 : 00000002 BCP3 : 00000000
BCP4 : 804DBBCB OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

technical information

Welcome!

The error you are receiving is generally caused by a bad driver, which basically tells the software and operating system how to communication with the hardware, or by faulty software.

Do you remember doing anything right before your computer started crashing? Such as installing a new driver or some software? You might want to try a System Restore point from a time before this started happening if possible.

I would recommend turning off automatic restart on system failure, which is a feature that restarts Windows XP when it encounters an error that it cannot recover from. This will show a blue screen error, which in your case will probably be STOP 0x0000000A. Please make a note of the number and the file if it lists one.
