Question IE browser window size

When I first open IE, the browser window perfectly fits the screen. When I
open in a new window now, it doesn't fit right.

I found some different topics on this searching Google...like, paste this in your "home page"

href="javascript:onclick=popupwindow('contactpopup .htm','contactpopup','520','417')"

and yes, it does work...but as soon as you reset your home page back to what it was it no longer remembers the window size.

Is there another way to configure Internet Explorer browser window size instead of having to paste a script in as your home page address?

And, what makes a browser forget it's former window size.

Any help or ideas? Thanks

Unhappy uh oh, not good

Well, I went to that link you gave and went into the registry, into "Internet Explorer\Main\Windows_Placement" and deleted the value.

Now, when I open in a new window, the window is tiny...not what I wanted ofcourse. Is there anyway to make it open up to fit the screen perfectly, like it does when I first open my browser?

I'm wanting to open up the window size to 800x600 like it use to do, now I've just screwed it up worse and the script patch doesn't work now either...what can I do now?

Can anyone help? Thanks

The official word:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q257087

How to fix:
Resize all your open browser windows to full screen (do not maximise, just drag to fill the screen in windowed mode).
Close them all.
Do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to make sure there are none you have missed "hidden" (e.g. Pop-ups). If there are, close them, open a new windo and fill it to screen size then close it again (again making sure it is the last open browser window).
Restart your PC.
Open IE and do a CTRL-N and see if it's fixed it.

Why the reg hack didn't work?
The tiny window that IE is now using as it's default will be the last closed IE window.

This is probably close to number 1 on the list of Windows / IE annoyances so don't feel bad about having trouble fixing it.

Talking "Like a glove"

Well, that was easy. I just maximized the browser window, then I opened an additional window maximizing it as well...next, I closed both of them and just restarted my computer and PRESTO, problem solved!

Thankyou "smurfy"!!
