Want to upgrade, need advice
Hi, i just bought an Acer Aspire 5610z. Its not a bad system and it runs smooth and sufficient. I have upgraded the memory to 2gig and im looking to purcahse a new CPU in a few months. I was wondering how far I can take this laptop with the CPU. I was looking at purchasing a Core 2 Duo T5600 merom @ 1.83 ghz or the Core 2 Duo T7200 merom @ 2.0 ghz. Both of these CPU's are 64bit the T5600 has 2mb L2 cache and the T7200 has 4mb L2 cache (both shared). Does anyone know if I can install these on this motherboard that is factory installed? Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated. thanks. PS im running Vista Home Premium 32bit. im aware an upgrade to 64bit would be needed.

An upgrade to 64bit is not necessary. As for the upgrade, It's not recommended to upgrade a laptop CPU, As they are built for the certain kind they are made with. So it will likely run hotter than usual.
There isn't any info on the website about CPU support.
