BSOD Not Booting...
On my Dell latatude D600 XP-Pro/SP2 I get the BSOD Files missing or corrupt /.............systemroot/system32/config/softwear and it doesnot boot...I have my disk so I hope I can do a repair install???? When I go into the repair screen and I type (1) for the system Windows it asks for a admin password that I never assigned for it anyway???? How can I get passed???Thanx...SQUID...

usually all you have to do is to press enter where it asks for password. Do not press any other key - just enter.

I think you pressed "R" too early and went into the Recovery Console. Press Enter to install Windows, then press R like Murf's link shows.
