Blinking Black Screens and NVIDIA
Hello,
Recently my computer has become almost unusable due to a randomly blinking black screen. I've also got a blue screen giving me a message about file nv4_disp. It states a device driver got stuck in an infinite loop and this usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with a device driver programming hardware incorrectly. I have a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 graphics card and can't figure out how to fix this. I'm running Windows XP. Any solutions? Your help is appreciated! |

Howdy:
Have you tried booting into Safe Mode.. Going to Device Manager and removing your graphics card from there.. Reboot and let XP find your card again and install the drivers for it.. Murray |

Murray is spot on..got the same problem for almost 2 years now..is not frequent but it does occur
I found a quicker way..now the driver is place on a folder..in my case c :\ nvidia boot into safe mode go to the folder ,do a fresh installation, then restart and back to normal..less than a minute |

Got it. The key was to download the updated drivers from the NVIDIA web site. What a pain!
