I would buy the full version of vista
since, as I've heard, using upgrades invalidates your old XP CD Key

I believe Vista has a min of 40gig free for install. What about the rest of your system, does it meet or exceed the Vista requirements?

what is the size of your harddrive?

However, when you upgrade to vista, vista will create a folder called windows.old or something similar. It has everything from your old windows in it. You can delete it if you want or keep it for a month or so just in case theres some file you forgot to keep. That is what I did.
