Hi truck7758

Can you please boot from the xp cd and post the error.

When you boot from the cd are you able to see 'To setup Windows XP now'?

Not without knowing the message or what file you replaced, we are even more clueless than before you posted this!

hi,
i found a website that told you how to re-install what i think are the windows boot-up files. it tells you to type commands such as "copy c:\windows\system32\config\software.bak
\sam.bak
\security.bak
\default.bak

this then allows my computer to bootup and then i can restore my computer using previous restore points
