My new Camcorder

I purchased a Sony handicam camcorder that uses miniDV tape. What software do I need to transfer video from the camcorder to my computer for editing and burning to DVD. I'm running SuSE 9.0. Thanks.

Howdy.

How does the camcorder connect to the PC? Firewire?
Video capture card?

This may help...

The camcorder connects via USB or firewire. I can connect in Windows but not Linux. The link you supplied was helpful. Thanks.
