New problem

What is "jucheck.exe? This is causing my computer to fail to shut down until I "close" the message.

Also, a new problem.: IE 7 immediately puts on a message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and must close..."

What is causing this? Firefox seems to be doing ok. All I did was shut my machine down for one day and when I restarted this happened. I have restored to a previous day-- same problem.

Thanks.

Hi cnsjones. Your log looks fine and as your problems do not appear to be malware related, I am transferring your topic to the Windows XP forum.

jucheck.exe is a component of Sun Java Virtual Machine and a quick look at your log shows me this program needs updating. Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall all versions Java/JRE (Sun Java Runtime Environment/J2SE Runtime Environment) and reboot. When you have done that, go here and download and install the latest version of Sun Java (Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6).

Reboot and tell me if you still have any problems.
