Help on using mobile phone as a modem.
Hi guys.
I'm currently registered with a certain mobile phone contractor and would like to purchase a service that allows me to connect my laptop to the internet, via my mobile phone. One service offers either 1gb of data usage or 3 gb per month. Will connecting to the internet this way allow me to play online gaming?. If anyone can help me with this issue id be grateful, or help to explain what 1 gb of data usage actually means. Many thanks in advance. |

you can do some online gaminig but it will not be fast, there could be lag time and finally you could easily exceed your monthly data usage limits.

Are you able to get 3g where you will be using your laptop ? and although I haven't tried it, I doubt the connection speed and ping would be suitable for FPS style games.

ok well infact the mobile service im using is the 3 network.
I am getting the idea that i wont be able to play fps style games over the network but what does 1 or 3 gb a month mean for surfing in general, or downloads. Thanks for the responses also guys. |
