I would also try this:

delete hyberfil.sys file;
Hibernate mode uses the hiberfil.sys file to store the current state (memory) of the PC, and since it’s managed by Windows, you can’t delete the file. The default size of the file is about 75% of your memory.

To do this:

Go to Start>search>type in
cmd

right click result and open as administrator

now type in:

powercfg.exe -h off

<enter>

type exit

<enter>

This still allows using sleep

If you have 4gb or more of memory lower your page file to 512mb

Lots of stuff has since crept back after doing al the steps you said .I have tried to download Win 10 but only have 5.5gb of space and it seems I need 6gb.I Do disk cleanup daily ,ccleaner,don,t have system restore,no docs as they all go to an external drive,deleted all downloads.Hyberfil.sys is 512mb.What else can I do to make space,I've even removed Rising antivirus but there is stlll a lot of stuff clogging up my system.
