Keypad Trouble!!!

My laptop has had this issue for a while, when I type, the letters fall where they want! It is so frustrating. Also, the delete key leaves periods whem it should be going in reverse. It is looking like a software issue, but I cannot fix it!
I have cleaned the board, re-installed the drivers, and now I am wondering if I need to update the bios, because I just upgraded from xp to Vista, and I am upgrading the drivers to see if that works. Please assist...

A little search reveals your not the only one with this problem

Replacement $10 + shipping. But may not be the problem. May want to try and reinstall the drivers:

The latest BIOS is HERE.

If you hit "Fn" + esc key it should show which BIOS version you have. The above is F54.

That part is a new keyboard.

Maintenance and Service manual (5-13 keyboard)

Keyboard model is 403809-001
