Hi #ELMO#. When you get to Step 4,

# An Installer icon will appear on your desktop. Double-click on it.

Instead of doubleclicking on the installer, rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator" and then follow the rest of the instructions.

Did this help?

I've been trying too. I've been unable to download the 9.0 version of Adobe flash player. The exact same thing happens to me. I've tried the solutions offered by 2 viewers on this site, without success. If by some miracle you do get a successful download PLEASE let me know. It sucks not being able to view 95% of video clips.

Good and thanks for the update. Open IE and go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the Security Tab. Click on Custom Level and scroll down to Downloads. Is Automatic Prompting for File Downloads set to Enable? If not, check it and click OK etc. Close IE and reopen it. The next time you download a file, you should now see a prompt to Save the file.

Vista is supported. See here.

Try this. Close IE and open Computer. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and open the System32 folder. Look for the Macromed folder. Open it and then open the Flash Folder. Find FlashUtil9b and rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue and follow the prompts. Did this work?

I did the same. It looked like it was going to work, but when I restart IE and try to use it I still get the prompt saying I need to update. Anyone want to buy a computer w/Vista OS ?

I use to have that problem, but, not anymore for some reason. I wish it were compatible with Playstation Portable. It also does that on WebProxy Sites, not Proxys put in InternetExplorer. Hmm, I guess Adobe has a long way to go.

That's good news ELMO and I'm glad I could help.

monka56, it might help if I can see what is running on your computer. Go here and download Hijack This to your Desktop. When you have downloaded it, doubleclick to install. Once installed, open Hijack This and click on scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.
