Registration name change WITHOUT reinstall?

Basically, right now my mom has her first initial and last name as the "registered to" thing. She wants it to be just her initials, PB, instead of the current P. Brown. The part I'm referring to is Start > Control Panel > System. Registered to P. Brown, changed to PB. Is there any way to accomplish the change without reinstalling windows?

Thank you very much! I was so close earlier today to using my restoration CD just to change the name... I'm glad I decided to wait and see if it were possible another way, you've saved a LOT of my time. Thanks again.
