is there a way to save and export a wallpaper?

new to linux, know enough to be very dangerous.
Is there a way to save a created wallpaper as a bmp or jpg? if so where is it located. where do i put my own jpg to use as a wallpaper?

using Xandros 3.0.1

How did you create the image? If you used the gimp, when you save it, you can choose the type of image to save it as, whether it is jpg, png, gif, bmp, or a ton of other options.

You can basically save it to whereever you want. I have created a pictures folder inside my home directory where I save all the pictures on my computer.

Since you are using Xandros, I am guessing you are using kde. Once you have the picture saved you can right click on the background and click configure desktop and set the background that way. Or just open up konqueror and go to where you saved the file and drag it to the desktop background. A couple options will appear, choose Set as Wallpaper and you should be good to go
