hard drive issue

hello all
newbie here

i have a my book world blue ring edition
this drive keapt going offline all the time untill few days off line completly but drives turns add runs!
i took it appart from the box and mounted it into a usb ext hardbox drive turns in there but no luck on either windows 7 or mac osc 10.8 mountain lion drive does not appear no where ! i really would love to get data of of it!

if anyone can give my pointers on what i can try either put it back in network box or off usb box i ready to try lots of stuff!
its a western digital 1 terra bite caviar sata drive its one of those green eco friendly drives !
theres 100gb of music on there and 100gb of home pics and movies

imac does seem to see something but says drive cant be read on this comuter windows wont even budge on it

Ontrack, Flashback Data and DriveSavers are three well-known companies that can attempt to retreive files off of a 'dead' hard drive. Pricing typically runs between a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars (US).

There is also some excellent freeware you can try. Recuva is one I have used.

well i dismounted the whole network drive mounted it in a usb box useless
remounted in network box and noticed that screws were used a grounds so remounted carefully and voila online for the past 8 hours without no network failure never seen that in over a year !

bottom line the chips that are outside the hardrive itself wich are probably used as the point of connection fior the network was the problem loose screw bad ground who knows any way getting importamt data out of it and will use it as a temp drive see how long this last
