Read any good books lately?
Some of us can't afford those fancy VCR's or record players, so we're stuck with reading books. I just finished A Painted House, by John Grisham (no, not a lawyer in site from start to finish ). Thought it was well crafted, a really nice read.
Ya got any favorites? |

Sure, just finished "The Great Game" by Peter Hopkirk.
1/4 of the way through "De Ludo Globi" by Nicolas of Cusa. Its awsome. Right in the beginning, he blows Euclid out of the water (geometrically). |

Almost finished with Nora Roberts "Glory in Death." It's the second in a long, long series. The first was "Naked in Death." It's set way in the future, but human beings seem the same. The main character is an NYC woman detective. I'm hooked!

You better be careful there dear SIR, the I believe Harrie is female. Now I'll let her deal with the 'chics' comment. ;^)
As far as my recent books... I just finished 'Never Have your Dog Stuffed' by Alan Alda and am reading 'Shoot the Moon' by Billie Lett now. |

The Elegant Universe and A Brief History of Time are really good books. I kind of liked the Harry Potter books and will probably read the last one. I also thought the Star Wars Episode III book actually had some better scenes and description than the movie.

Just finished colouring in my "Bumper Easter Bunny Colouring Compendium" and 3/4 of the way through the "Spot" series.
Today - got my head stuck in Microsoft Press' "Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Infrastructure" cos I'm redo-ing a whole domain's worth of AGLP. Tonight, I shall be tucking into Sony-Ericssons little bodice ripper "P990i user guide" followed by a few of the short stories from Jeffery Deaver, "More Twisted". Pi, we've discussed this before I know, but Hawkin's Opus pro-Populis is a little bit stodgy and contains a few unforgiveable errors! Could've made it flow a little easier, considering it was meant to drag the great unwashed in to get interested in physics. (Also lacks plot and strong characters) |

I recently read My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson which was a good, if ever so slightly naiively crafted story. What spoilt it for me were some grammatical errors which stood out like a sore thumb.
Also I really enjoyed The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. Didnt want it to end Last edited by PurestLight; April 10th, 2007 at 07:19 PM. Reason: grammatical error :P |

I just finished reading I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. Fantastic book! A movie is currently being made based on I Am Legend with Will Smith. If you've read the book then is it me or does Will Smith seem nothing like how you pictured Neville?
I am now reading The Shrinking Man by the same guy. Jack |
