WIN XP using up all of my hard drive space

Hi all.Have this prob. with Win.Xp.I have 22gigs free space on my 80gig harddrive.I have noticed that something or WinXp is useing up my harddrive space. It take 6 to 8 hours and the HD is reduced to 14gigs left.i used theses tools to check HD AVG,Webroot SpySweeper,Spyboot,CCleaner,Vcom SystemSuite Pro 6,ZoneAlarm,all have come up clean. To get back the missing HD space i just reboot the computer and i have the 22gigs back again.Has anyone had this problem or a fix? Also i have turned off system restore if that help you.Thank-you for any help Joe

Try this: Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Advanced tab->under performance click Settings->Advanced tab->under Virtual Memory if that number is any bigger than 1GB change it to 766MB.
Reset and see if there's any change.
Another thing to try, though it's very unlikely, is to disable Hibernation: Control Panel->Power Options->Hibernate tab->uncheck the "Enable Hibernation" box.
Restart and try again.

Right click your C: drive and disable Indexing Service, it should ask you if you want to disable it for all subfolders, say yes.
On the same screen, try running Disk Cleanup, scan the disk and defragment. Also try disabling any unnecessary processes, or running SpyBot or HijackThis (post your log in the Cyber Safety section), to make sure there's no malicious processes eating up HDD space. That's all I can think of.

It's unlikely this is a hardware problem, so a format should work. You can try repairing the installation first though, just boot with the Windows CD.
