Sleep problem
Win 10 on a generic PC bought second hand.
As a new thing in the last 3 days or so, my computer no longer wakes up with a mouse touch. In fact, the mouse is dead when the computer sleeps and it requires a keyboard touch, and then it moves to a login page that has to be clicked (I don't have a password as I am the only user) before it is ready to go back to what I was working on. The login page is bizarre in that its background is a photo I stopped using for my desktop about 6 months ago. I am not aware of any settings change that I made and I could not readily find a setting to adjust it to normal operation. I also have not installed any updates recently though I did install something that was not too good so I deleted it about a week ago. What gives and how do I fix it? TY |

Any chance of using system restore to take the machine back to before all this happened?

I never tried that; always afraid I would lose current work and new files. So this would be a last possible resort.

System Restore does not mess with your personal files. See this Microsoft page for more info and instructions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/..._restore_point
