laptop hangs on sleep and hibernate
Hello everyone. I own a 3 week old Toshiba Satellite E205-S1904 and recently whenever I want to put it to sleep or hibernate it will shut down most of the processes and power off the USB ports and turn off the monitor, however it does not actually turn off from there, the power light remains on and I am unable to turn it back on or do anything so I'm stuck with doing a hard shut down every time. I did try to disable and re-enable hibernation within the command prompt with powercfg -h off and powercfg -h on, but that did not fix the problem. I have the Intel HD graphics card and it's up to date and I know it is supported because it did actually used to work. What else can I try?

on the start menu Type: Power then in the list look for Power Options new window will open I have put mine to High Performance but you can leave it at Balanced (Recommended) ether one click on Change Plan Setting then the 2 drop down boxes set them I have mine at 15 (Turn off display) and Never (Put PC to Sleep) then click on: Change advanced power settings I would say to use High Performance (Choice is yours) here are my setting to help you out High performance .. Slide show ..... setting: Available (Note beings I don't let the PC sleep this is redundant) Wireless Adapter Settings .. Power Saving Mode ..... setting: Maximum Performance (Note beings I don't let the PC sleep this is redundant and no wireless but U know MS ) Sleep .. Sleep after ..... Setting: Never .. Allow hybrid sleep ..... Setting: Off .. Hibernate after ..... Setting: Never .. Allow wake timers ..... Setting: Enable (Note cause I let my Display turn off after 15 might be able to have this on disable) USB settings .. USB selective suspended settings ..... Setting: Disabled (I don't want it to sleep in the lest) Power buttons and lid .. Power button action ..... Setting: shut down (You can tell PC what U want it to do when U hit the Power button) .. Sleep button action ..... Setting: Do nothing (just so I don't hit it by accident) PCI Express .. Link State Power Management ..... Setting: Off Processor power management .. Minimum Processor state ..... Setting: 100% .. System cooling policy ..... Setting: Active .. Maximum Processor state ..... Setting: 100% Display .. Turn off display after ..... Setting: 15 Minutes Multimedia settings .. When sharing media ..... Setting: Prevent idling to sleep .. When playing video ..... setting: Optimize video quality Click on Apply then click OK then that window will close back in the main window If Save Changes is not grayed out click it to if it is then just click the X at the top NOTE time to time check the setting MS some how (ON mine any way) re-sets some of them Hope this helps you Please Let me know .......
