Code:641, 80070641, Failure configuring windows update reverting changes, windows installer could not be accessed
MSI repair, went through all the MS fixit files, and suggestions, reset registry with MSI.reg and right click and merge, went through all the MSIserver routine through regedit. Still will not download MS updates and install them, and when you do restart and windows starts to configure updates the system will run up to 34% and shut down failure configuring windows update. Some of the MS automatic Fixit programs will not run gives an error windows installer cannot be accessed when trying to download MS Office 2010 updates, all win 7 updates loaded. I have even done a clean boot and updates will still not download.

c. Click on Start.

d. Type regedit in the Start Search field and hit enter.

e. On the registry edit windows click onFile and select Import.

f. Browse to the location where reset.reg file is located and select the file.

g. Click ok at the on-screen windows once the registry is merged successfully.

h. Restart the computer and check if updates installs.

I have tried everything but throwing the kitchen sink at the problem! I hope someone has an idea of something else to try.

First is everything 100% legal.
Have you tried reverting to an earlier back-up and then downloading the up-dates.
Probably sounds silly but have you done a full virus scan.
