Can't download M$ Java Virtual Machine

Recently I formatted my pc cause I got a nasty virus, so I did a clean install of Windows xp pro. After doing that I downloaded all the patches and SP-1 from the windows update site, but the problem i'm having is that when ever I go to a website that requires java, a message pops up asking to download it from the windows update site. I click on "download" and it takes me to a site where it says

We're sorry. Automatic installation of Microsoft Virtual Machine is no longer provided for Microsoft Windows XP.

You can get the Microsoft Virtual Machine by installing Windows XP Service Pack 1.

I already have SP-1 installed. :-( Please help!

Yeah but I don't like Sun's Java cause on some java apps the letters are unreadable, but hey! I got it to work,

I downloaded Sun's Java installed it and told it to work with IE, then I uninstalled it and installed Java VM and it worked.

thanks for the link

You're welcome for the link. Glad you got it to work, but that's weird how you got it to work.
