Ethernet connection disappeared - windows 7
Windows 7
Macbook Air mid 2012 running bootcamp My ethernet lan connection icon has disappeared from my network connections in the control panel. I have router with an ethernet line that goes into a hub, which connects to my macbook air via usb. This setup has lasted me 9 years with no issues. I have tried restarting, shutting down windows, restarting the modem, using a different ethernet cable, removing and putting the usb hub back to the laptop. No luck. Still no icon. My drivers are a tricky issue because of bootcamp. I dont think i can just reinstall a driver Any ideas? |

Bremang,
First, Check to see if the other devices connected to the Hub are still working. If they aren't. Try switching the cable from the Hub to a different router port. Or, switch the cable {Use a known good cable to go from the Router to the hub.} If by switching to a different Port on the Router solves it. You may have too replace the Router. Also, check the USB Port, to make sure it is working. {Take a USB Thumb Drive and plug it into the USB Port to check that it is working.} If not, see if you can use a different USB Port for the Hub. If USB Port is working. Try switching out the USB cable {Use a known good cable to go from the hub then to your computer.} See if that solves it. Quick Question; When this happened. Was there a strong lightning storm in the area? Indirect lightning strikes will play havoc with phone and LAN lines. I know, my LAN Port on my computer was take out this way. Good luck!
